Skunk Dots
I don't bother to try to cover the local events other than advertising SJHR events because Skunk is already doing the job. Subscribe to Skunk Dots and you'll always know what's happening in the area.

Motorcycle Safety Foundation
If you don't know what the MSF is, you better go check them out. Even experienced riders can benefit from their training courses. Check out the Wheels-in-Motion motorcycle safety site for a comprehensive list of local (Houston area) schedules. If you've got a friend who would like to start riding, this is the best way to get started. For $120, the three-day beginner's Riding and Street Skills (RSS) course provides a bike and everything you need to get riding training. The one-day Experienced Rider's Course (ERC) is just $40! Thanks to Robert Vaughn at Wheels-in-Motion for keeping us up to date on this subject.

Nite N. Krome's Motorcycle Riders of New Orleans (MCRNO) is a group of 160+ good natured, fun finding, wind loving bikers without any nasty attitudes. They make all the Mid Southern runs as a group, and also plan their own monthly rides that always turn out to be more like adventures than typical bike runs, as well as weekly gatherings at the local biker watering hole. They encourage all riders in the general area to join them for lasting friendships and great times, and discriminate against NO ONE for any reason, unless they have an asshole's attitude. All bike types are welcome and are present from HD Roadkings to little 500cc Honda crotchrockets, and aside from the regular "all in fun" teasing, no one ever looks down on another brother or sister of the wind.

Dawgs on Hawgs If you haven't been to any of the Dawgs on Hawgs rallies, where have you been? Aside from being a great time, these events benefit the Pruett Ranch.
